
Charley Hasemann, PhD, Receives Mary Beth Maddox Lifetime Service Award from Network of Academic Corporate Relations Officers (NACRO)
Charley Hasemann, PhD, Associate VP for Innovation & Economic Development, Michigan State University, honored at NACRO’S Annual Conference (July 15-17)
LaGrange, GA, July 17, 2025 – The Network of Academic Corporate Relations Officers (NACRO), the premier organization unifying academic corporate relations professionals, announces that Charley Hasemann, PhD, Associate Vice President for Innovation & Economic Development at Michigan State University, has received its prestigious Mary Beth Maddox Lifetime Service Award.
Hasemann was presented with this award during NACRO’s 2025 Annual Conference in Kansas City, MO, July 15-17.
Established in 2019, the Mary Beth Maddox Lifetime Service Award honors a NACRO member each year who has made a significant and lasting impact on the field by serving the profession over a period of ten years or more and demonstrates significant service to the organization.
A long-standing NACRO member and leader, Hasemann served two years on the Board of Directors as Co-Chair of Benchmarking, followed by a three-year term in the executive leadership track. During his term as Co-President (2021–2022), he partnered with Co-President Barry Dickerson to launch NACRO’s strategic plan, establishing a new vision, mission and values to guide NACRO’S future growth. Post-Co-presidency, Hasemann has remained an active volunteer contributor, supporting subcommittees on bylaws, benchmarking, finance and Past Presidents.
Additional 2025 NACRO Award Recipients
Volunteer of the Year: Megan Greenawalt, Senior Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Health Sciences, at the University of Pittsburgh, was honored for her outstanding volunteer efforts. As a member of the Membership Committee, she led engagement initiatives including warm outreach strategies, feedback mechanisms, and a campaign to re-engage lapsed members. In addition, Greenawalt worked to establish the Advanced Career Track as a part of NACRO’s Professional Education Committee, while also creating content and educational opportunities for senior leadership in the academic corporation relations profession.
Established in 2020, NACRO’s Volunteer of the Year award honors a NACRO member who has demonstrated exceptional service to the organization in the current year.
Rising Star Awards: Ulyssia Dennis, Strategic Relationship Manager at the University of Illinois, and Elizabeth Minard, Director of Corporate Engagement at the Iowa State University Foundation, were recognized as rising stars for their contributions to NACRO and the academic corporate relations profession. The Rising Star Award, established in 2019, recognizes NACRO volunteers newer to their career and who are emerging leaders in their work with NACRO and our profession.
