April 13th, 2020Susan Kertis

  1. What is your current role at your institution? Conference Coordinator, College of Agricultural Sciences, Penn State University. We work with faculty members and industry to deliver conferences and short courses.

  2. How long have you been a NACRO member? I joined NACRO in June of 2019, as I registered for the NACRO Corporate Relations Bootcamp in Pittsburgh.

  3. What do you enjoy most about your NACRO membership? I joined for the professional development and NACRO membership resources; also to learn more about Corporate Relations as a career path. I have industry and higher ed experience, and it seems like a natural fit. The members and leaders of NACRO are excellent. Adam Causgrove convinced me to volunteer on a committee and get involved!

  4. What has been your greatest challenge during the COVID-19 crisis? Other than the abrupt notice, our move to remote work went smoothly. Our biggest challenge is delivery—moving classroom style instruction to online content where possible, and rescheduling other programs to a “safe” time. Everyone is committed to a high level of service for our constituents!

  5. What is something (a fun fact) that not many people know about you? I have my NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) wilderness first aid certification and a Spotted Lanternfly training permit!
