Q&A with new NACRO Co-president Dana Ulrich

July 8, 2022Dana Ulrich

  1. What is your current role at your institution/company?
For the past almost six years I have served as the Director of Corporate Engagement at Washington State University.

  2. How long have you been a NACRO member?

My first NACRO conference was in 2015 and I have been a member ever since. I was initially drawn to NACRO because of the content being offered, which was much different and more relevant than what I was seeing at other corporate relations conferences.

  3. What do you enjoy most about your NACRO membership?
The people I meet! My fellow NACRO members are often having similar experiences as I am and I’ve loved learning with them and from them.

  4. So far, what has been your greatest Corporate Relations success? What has been your greatest challenge?
My greatest success to date is being a part of the interdisciplinary team that worked to secure a $20M gift in support of engineering facilities. My greatest challenge, which I’m sure is something a lot of us have experienced, is getting internal buy-in on the holistic corporate engagement model.

  5. What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?
I live in the Pacific Northwest and love camping and spending as much time as I can outdoors.
