Awards Process

The Awards Committee is composed of the Past Presidents and Co-Vice Presidents serving on the Board. This year's Awards Committee members include:

Nomination Process

  • Nominations are reviewed in May/June by the awards ad hoc committee, which is made up of:
    • Member at Large to the Board
    • The immediate past recipients of the three awards
    • Members of the board nominating committee
  • The awards ad hoc committee reviews all nominations and votes to select recipients. The full board votes to approve the winners of the awards at the July board meeting.
  • If you have questions regarding a potential nominee's tenure in NACRO or fulfillment of criteria for given awards please email [email protected]

Notification

  • Once all nominations are received, a letter from NACRO co-presidents is sent to the finalists, inviting him/her to the upcoming annual conference with information about the awards presentation. Winners are announced at the NACRO Annual Conference. Recipients must receive the award in person - or be deferred to a subsequent year.

 Award Details

  • Awards are presented at the annual conference by NACRO leadership.
  • Recipients receive a NACRO branded award item as well as a certificate signed by the co- Presidents naming the recipient, the award, the organization, and the year the award is conferred.
    • All award recipients receive free registration for the next year’s conference, and the NACRO co- presidents notify the individual’s organization and supervisor of this benefit. The recipient of the Mary Beth Maddox Lifetime Service Award may use their free conference registration in the year of the award.
  • In addition, Mary Beth Maddox Lifetime Service Award recipients receive lifetime NACRO membership.
  • All award recipients are profiled in the August or September newsletter.
  • Presentation of status of awards at Midwinter
  • Conference Programming slots award presentations into agenda for conference at midwinter
  • Newsletter coverage announcing opening of award nomination to all members in March
  • LinkedIn post in March; Blog posted to main page of website
  • Personalized email highlighting all awards to NACRO members in mid to late March
  • Reminder in April NACRO News, and final call for nominations in May NACRO News
  • Deadline for submissions: May 12, 2022
  • Announce awards during annual conference
